Ceramics on honeycomb under technical advice from the CSTB

Partnership

Discover the STONE EVOLUTION-MARAZZI partnership for ceramic honeycomb facades. The ventilated facade cladding system is the most effective exterior cladding technology for protecting buildings against moisture and atmospheric agents, as well as insulating and soundproofing them. The system ensures the best thermal and hygrometric performance without influencing interior living conditions or modifying internal finishes. Its growing application is motivated, among other things, by the considerable increase in energy savings and improved residential comfort.(Source: Marazzi website)

Under technical approval

Thanks to our recognized expertise, STONE EVOLUTION was able to attract MARAZZI, a world leader in the ceramics sector, to develop the application of its products in facades.

In December 2021, the two companies signed a long-term partnership agreement.

With the extension of its Technical Approval for ventilated facades to include ceramics, STONE EVOLUTION is now MARAZZI' s exclusive producer of large-format ceramic honeycomb panels for facades.

MARAZZI is the most famous brand in the ceramic tile sector. Present in over 140 countries, it is universally recognized as synonymous with quality ceramic floor and wall tiles, and is a symbol of the best Made in Italy in the furnishings and design sectors.

Advantages of partnering with STONE EVOLUTION

A cladding system consisting of a panel with a thin natural stone or ceramic facing from MARAZZI, combined with a honeycomb-core sandwich panel, fitted with fixing lugs bolted to inserts on the rear face of the panels, which fit onto a horizontal network of aluminum rails, themselves fixed to a vertical metal framework attached to the shell.

The process used by STONE EVOLUTION offers a number of advantages, including the lightness of the structure and sandwich, which facilitates installation and saves considerable time. It also makes the whole structure very robust. The process can also be used for very large panels (over 2,500 mm).

A ventilated air space is always provided at the back of the cladding skin.

Thermal insulation is usually interposed between the support wall and the back of the cladding skin.

A CSTB-approved system.

Its multi-layer structure activates natural ventilation over the entire façade that removes excess moisture, guarantees a cool atmosphere in summer and controls heat loss in winter. In addition, this system exploits the incredible aesthetic potential of exterior cladding, and thus meets the most demanding project requirements. Architects have a great deal of compositional freedom.

The ventilated facade is made up of three basic elements known as "functional layers":
1 Thermal insulation on the outside of the screen wall.
2 Supporting structure for the exterior cladding.
3 Exterior cladding separated from the insulation by a technical void a few centimetres deep.
