What are we talking about?
It's a combination of natural stone (granite, limestone, marble) in a thin layer (5 mm) and a composite material chosen according to the application.
Cutting a sandwich panel
COATING: 5 mm natural stone slab
FIRST SKIN: this is the substrate on which the coating is fixed. It can change depending on the desired finish and the final application of the sandwich panel.
CORE: this is the core of the panel, made of aluminum or PET cells, or PET foam, depending on the application.
SECOND SKIN: this is the support on which the coating is fixed. It can change depending on the desired finish and the final application of the sandwich panel.
What are the advantages of this material?
- Aesthetics: by retaining all the aesthetic properties of natural stone, this material can be used in a wide range of sectors.
- Lightness: very light, by a factor of 1 to 10, the monolith formed will be easier to handle and can be used in applications where its lightness is an asset.
- Large format: the sandwich construction allows the creation of large formats that are easy to handle, where solid stone quickly encounters feasibility constraints.
2500x1200x25mm - Saving natural materials: using this process saves natural stone, since only a thin layer is needed to preserve and guarantee the aesthetics of natural stone.
- Recycled and recyclable material: the sandwich composite is made from recycled PET and is completely recyclable.
- Ease of use: given the above advantages, the material is easy to handle (16 kg/m) and can be cut with great ease. It can be processed in a variety of ways, either by bonding (PET) or by fixing to a metal substrate.
- Easy after-sales service: installed on the facade, the panel can be replaced more easily than a solid stone in the event of damage over time.
Uses for the material
The sectors in which this material is used are many and varied, and are growing every day:
Façades
Interior coverings
Coatings for damp rooms
Floor coverings
Slabs on blocks
Furniture
Stairs
